I graduated from Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College in 2013 with my Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I took a year of Business Management and Accounting before I found that my heart was in education.
I transferred to University of Wisconsin-Superior in May of 2013 to pursue my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I graduated in May 2017 with my degree in Elementary Education and minor in Early Childhood and Broad-field Science.
I started teaching at Webster Elementary School in the Fall of 2017.
Educational Experience
I have worked in a daycare setting and 4K setting through my Practicum for my Associate's Degree.
I have worked in a 3/4 grade split classroom for my Field Hours with my Bachelor's Degree.
I have experience in both a team-taught 4th grade classroom and Kindergarten classroom for my Student Teaching.
I have taught 3rd grade for one year and 2nd grade for 6 years.
Educational Philosophy
I believe children deserve respect.
I believe that learning requires a collaboration between teacher, student, and parent(s)/guardians.
I believe children will make mistakes and it is part of my job to help them learn from the mistakes and use them as teaching experiences.
I believe all children can learn when they are accepted for who they are and where they are at in their educational journey.
I believe children learn the most when they take ownership of their learning and actions.
I believe modeling is the most powerful way to affect a child’s learning.
I believe that learning takes place best in a positive, safe learning environment.
