About Me

Hi! My name is Laura Eckart and I have loved working at the Webster School District for the past 15 years. I grew up in Hinckley, MN and  completed my teacher education at the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 2007. I started teaching Kindergarten in 2008, and taught Kindergarten here at Webster for 8 years. I then moved to 1st Grade in 2016. I look forward to partnering with parents in their child's education!  

I currently live in Danbury, where I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children; Easton, Alaina, and Owen. In the summer, we own and operate  Red Wing Lodge, a resort on Leech Lake in Walker, MN.  www.redwinglodge.com <--- Free ice cream for any past students that want to visit.  ; ) 

I love to attend school events and watch past students grow into amazing young adults.  Getting to know my students and watching them grow and succeed as learners is the best part of my job. My goal each day is to make learning meaningful and fun; to create a learning environment where my students feel comfortable and motivated. Great motivation = Great success! First grade is a pivotal year for students as they learn to read. I want my students to always remember to be kind, to be honest, and to know they matter.
